Deze cursus stoomt je klaar voor het officiële SDEN3-examen ‘Wijnbrevet’ van de Wijnacademie. Met dit certificaat heb je bovendien toegang tot de Vinologenopleiding.

Onze docenten weten van wijn. De één is sommelier, de ander heeft in de kelder gestaan als wijnmaker, en weer een ander schrijft erover. Allemaal met een grote liefde voor het vak.

Lesson 1 – From grape to wine
What happens between vineyard and bottle, and how does that affect the taste?

Lesson 2 – Alsace, Loire, Burgundy & Beaujolais
What distinguishes a Sancerre from a Muscadet? How do you recognize a Chardonnay from Chablis versus a Mâconnais?

Lesson 3 – Bordeaux, Champagne & South Africa
From classic blends from Bordeaux and the Cape to sparkling Champagne, we discuss style differences, grape varieties, and typical production methods.

Lesson 4 – Spain & Portugal
Viva España! Time for sherry (our favorite). Then there are classics like Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and a Vintage Port to finish.

Lesson 5 – Argentina, Southwest France & Rhône
From high-altitude Malbec from Mendoza to theblack winesFrom Cahors. We compare the Northern and Southern Rhône and discuss stylistic differences, oak aging, and legislation.

Lesson 6 – Italy & Wine and Food Pairing
An entire evening of Italy. We'll discuss native grape varieties, regional styles, and wine legislation.

Lesson 7 – Germany & Eastern Europe
Riesling reigns supreme, but there's more. We'll discuss German classifications (good luck 😉), stylistic differences between dry and noble sweet, and take a trip to Austria and Greece.

Lesson 8 – New Zealand, Australia, California & Chile
We end outside Europe: vibrant sauvignon blanc from Marlborough, powerful shiraz from Barossa and cool climate chardonnay from California.

Le Club des Vins was founded by Nadien de Visser. Nadien de Visser obtained her DipWSET in 2021 and has been teaching wine courses for over nine years.

Nadien does not do it alone and has now been reinforced by a top team in Rotterdam, Utrecht and Schiedam.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which wine course is right for me?

Several wine courses are offered in the Netherlands. The two largest training providers are WSET and SDEN. Le Club des Vins offers both, and founder Nadien de Visser himself has completed both. Incidentally, many people do this, as the courses complement each other well.

👉 New to the wine world?
Start with an SDEN2 wine course, an accessible course for those who want to learn more than just the difference between red and white. If you're really not sure if wine is for you, you can also start with SDEN1.

👉 Have you already mastered the basics or do you work in the hospitality industry?
Then SDEN3 is a logical next step. You'll learn to taste, analyze, and describe wine professionally and objectively.

👉 Do you want to learn more or deepen your knowledge?
Then WSET is for you. WSET2 and WSET3 delve deeper into tasting techniques, grape varieties, and wine regions worldwide.
