Now, I have to admit I'm not always enthusiastic about the whole gourmet thing. That's why I had to laugh out loud at this sharp article . There are a lot of gourmet haters, which I understand to some extent, but what I don't understand is that you just accept it. Then make the most of it . A good wine on the table makes all the difference (but be sure to check the drinking guidelines in the aforementioned article).
Oh yeah, and a good tip: don't talk about gourmet cooking while having a gourmet meal. Instead, talk about the cozy atmosphere (...). Okay, good luck with that!
Swimming in garlic oil
Grab a bag of tiger prawns and brown them in oil, add some bruschetta spice mix , and grate some garlic into them. Sprinkle with chives, and voila, a delicious dish. Make sure you have enough baguette so you can dip the whole pan clean.
Hot tip:
Go wild
A ready-made meat dish is easy, but go wild. It's Christmas, after all. Venison steak. Duck breast. Rack of lamb. It's not cheap, but you don't need much. Delicious with cranberry or gorgonzola sauce. And don't forget the mushrooms. You can do it all in your pan!
Hot tip:
Crispy aunt
Crispy potato cakes! Why didn't I think of this sooner? I used to make these, and they're absolutely delicious. They're also super easy to make in a gourmet pan.
You need:
- 2 to 3 large potatoes
- 1 egg
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp chives
- salt and pepper
Finely grate the potatoes and mix everything together. Serve at the table, and one tablespoon is enough for a potato rosti.
Hot tip:
Provide good wine
Since the meat often dominates, I find a red wine most suitable. Keeping the different types of meat in mind, I choose a smooth wine. They also come in different varieties, so I have several tips. These wines should be enjoyed slightly cooler than usual – I'd recommend 15-16 degrees Celsius.
