Maison Fredon is perfect for those who appreciate luxury and design.

Les Sources de Caudalie
Who wouldn't want to bathe in wine? It's possible at Les Sources de Caudalie. This luxury hotel is located just south of Bordeaux city and is surrounded by vineyards. Les Sources de Caudalie is the ideal place to relax after a day of wine tasting.

Château Carbonneau
A half-hour drive from Saint-Émillion, where I believe the word 'picturesque' was invented, Château Carbonneau . A real castle surrounded by the vineyards of Pessac-sur-Dordogne. Their own vineyards, of course, because they also make wine. Owners Wilfred and Jacque are enthusiastic storytellers. They make three red wines, a rosé, and a white. Good to know: they speak good English – family ties in New Zealand! Besides staying overnight in the fairytale castle, you can also book a tour of the cellar and vineyards. You can taste them during the tour or during dinner. Jacque cooks a three-course menu every evening using local produce for the entire chateau. So you dine with the other hotel guests at the table, which makes for interesting conversation.
