Today—April 17, 2025—is World Malbec Day, and we're naturally celebrating it. In this episode, we'll talk you through the most important malbec regions. We'll start in Cahors and finish in Mendoza with Laura Catena. We've been given the maestro of malbecs: Argentino Malbec . This bottle tells the story of malbec, from Eleanor of Aquitaine, once Queen of England and France and a major proponent of malbec, to phylloxera and the subsequent migration of French winemakers to Argentina.
We can't wait to taste this wine, but we'll keep it under wraps for now until it's ready to drink. Give it a few years, cook a steak, and be amazed. We'll keep you posted.
Below you'll find other producers we've mentioned (as promised!).
