Dit boek heb ik verslonden tijdens WSET Diploma. Het boek maakt nog steeds onderdeel uit van de aanbevolen literatuur voor WSET Diploma en Master of Wine.
Stephen Skelton MW legt in 172 pagina’s alle basisprincipes van de wijnbouw helder uit. Hij behandelt de fysiologie van de wijnstok, druivenrassen, het aanleggen van een wijngaard, snoei, irrigatie, ziektes en plagen, onderstammen en voeding. Het boek staat vol foto’s, grafieken en tabellen. In deze volledig herziene derde editie gaat hij ook in op PIWI-rassen (schimmelresistente druiven) en op duurzame en regeneratieve wijnbouw.
Het was finalist bij de Gourmand Awards 2026 in de categorie Drinks Education. Jancis Robinson schreef over de vorige editie: ‘Definitely useful for those with vines to plant and/or exams to take.’
