How much does the world's most expensive wine cost? It's a question that preoccupies many, as it's frequently searched for and asked during wine courses. These wines, starting at over €14,000, aren't accessible to everyone. Only those with a well-filled wallet can dream of it. The question is whether these wines are even consumed, or are simply viewed as collector's items.
Sad but true.
Below you will find the top 10 most expensive wines in the world (according to wine searcher*).

Not DRC after all
Many of us still refer to DRC as the world's most expensive wine, so that's out of date. Domaine Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay (Leroy's sister company) are the king, emperor, and admiral of this list. Or should I say queen, as the company is run by Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy. Girl power!
For the real nerds among us, yes, Maison Leroy also owns half of DRC. A little shout-out to Egon Müller, who managed to sneak into this top 10 with a super-sweet Riesling. I wouldn't mind drinking a bottle of that golden yellow happiness from the Saar (Germany) sometime.
Keep in mind that these prices are based on a standard 750ml bottle, which is a whopping 5 or 6 glasses. That's a pretty hefty sum. And can we also mention the dominance of France, and specifically Burgundy, on this list?! Holy crap. No US beers, no Champagne, and even Bordeaux doesn't come close.
Burgundy prices are reportedly up again this year by an average (!) of 15%. Year after year, they've been skyrocketing. As long as demand for these wines remains extremely high and yields extremely low, I fear this trend will continue for a while.
